Programs

The Bantaba
As the African Proverb states, "If you can walk, you can dance!" This program provides an opportunity for men, women and children to learn dance, drum, song and folklore together in a community supported setting. The Bantaba is a weekly intergenerational, multicultural activity for community members ages 5 through 105. Classes are held Monday evenings at Enoch Davis Center in St. Petersburg and Thursday evenings at The North Clearwater Performing Arts Academy in Clearwater beginning September 12, 2005.

Each One Teach One
Ages 14-18 participate in an outreach program where trained youth are employed as professional assistants to utilize performing arts activities as a mentoring activity for other community youth.

Dundu Dole Urban African Ballet
Dundu Dole is a semi-professional performing arts group that trains, prepares and performs for the company's touring schedule. Members participate in costume making and design, masquerades, stilt walking, drumming, dancing and theatric pieces. Consisting of approximately 50 men, women and children and ranging in ages from 10 and up.

Imani
The Imani(Faith) is the children's performing group. Ages 5 through 10 get hands on experience with learning the discipline of the arts. They have the opportunity to give back, as well as develop confidence by performing in the community

In-School Program
Native American, African, Asian, European and Latin activities combine to provide cultural diversity, with Multiple Intelligence Activities. 8 week in-school program.

Ekco Art
Ages 14-18 have the opportunity to learn creative artistry by making instruments, jewelry, clothing and various art items to sell at performances and via website sales.

Combined Forces
Utilizes Performing arts to address current social issues that affect the community.

Life Force Summer Camp
Provides an opportunity for youth to explore arts through music, theater, voice and dance. 10 week intensive program.

Life Force After-School Program
The after school program provides further development of performing arts, cultural enrichment and education enhancement on a year round basis. Camp hours are 2:00 - 6:00 at the North Clearwater Performing Arts Academy in Clearwater (formerly Kings Highway Rec Center).
